Trevor still held Selene's hand and looked steadfastly into her eyes, eyes that were deep, unfathomable. Her words appealed to the part of him that was gallant, the reason he had joined the knighthood in the first place. He felt strong and needed by this princess. She had to be one. There was no other explanation.

Trevor smiled warmly and squeezed her hand again. He spoke quietly, emphatically. "As a Knight of Torrigan I give you my solemn word of honor that your secret is safe with me. I will not take you anywhere that you do not wish to go. I promise to defend your honor and I will not betray your trust."

He added wryly, "Even to *that* woman, all right?"

Trevor released Selene's hand and crossed his arms. He regarded Selene for a moment, then spoke in a conciliatory tone. "Look, it seems we have somehow gotten off on the wrong foot. I was hoping that we could start over, fresh as it were. What do you say?"

He took Selenes hand again and bowed theatrically, "Trevor Ainsley, Knight of Torrigan, at your service. It is indeed an honor to meet you." He gently kissed her hand and grinned charmingly.

Tiel had fled clear of the disaster. Not far enough to called cowardice, but far enough to be missed by unidentified falling objects. Picking her way toward a voice, she recognized it as Azari - Trying to calm her horse.

Tiel padded a bit closer and would have kept going if she hadn't heard Azari start raging about Selene, when she froze.

Smiling ruefully, she made her presence known. "Agreed, Azari, Selene is a bit spoiled, but she's used to the sort of treatment she's not getting. If you watch her closely enough, she's accustomed to being coddled and waited on." She picked her way closer to the horse and woman pair, her long tail coiling sinuously behind her.

Elexa tilted her head to the side, listening intently to what the man was saying to her, and brightening greatly when he told her that Keleos was nearby. She didn't understand all that he had said, and certainly not the long words, but those bits probably didn't matter too much, she decided. Smiling more confidently now, she relaxed a little from her frightened huddle, blinking curious eyes at the stranger. Keleos was coming back soon. She repeated it a few times in her mind, feeling greatly consoled and reassured by the knowledge. And, since this man was a friend of Keleos', he was probably safe. He certainly seemed quite nice, and not at all loud. And soon Keleos would come back and it would all safe again. Eyes growing wider as she studied him, and a finger going to her mouth to be chewed upon, she tried to get his name straight in her mind. Then, frowning with concentration, she formed a reply.

" Me 'lexa," she told him solemnly, but followed the words with a warm smile. She didn't quite feel like talking properly yet after being so scared. But the man *felt* nice. And he would probably stop anyone else from being nasty if he was one of the 'same people' as Keleos. Feeling much better, she looked around again at the room before returning her gaze to Muranog.

"I accept your word.. And I hope that it's as good as you say it is." She looked at him with stormy teal eyes, heaving a sigh. She didn't know what to do. Trevor had run off after that woman, probably was still infatuated with her, and Selene still did not wnat to have anything to do with her. She hated, with a passion, drunks and prostitutes, and Azari had come across as both of those...

She couldn't help but smile a bit at Trevor's overly dramatic efforts, but she didn't forget that she was still a bit mad at him. "All right.." She said with a sigh. "Greetings Sir Ainsley. It indeed is quite a delightful honor to meet you. I am Lady Selene, daught-.." She broke off, mentally slapping herself. The formal introductions had automatically brought forth her title, including her rank and her parents' names. It was embarassing, to say the least.

She looked at him, took a deep breath, and then walked over to a log that had fallen some time ago, slighlty covered with moss. Brushing it off, she made a face but sat. "You want to know my story?" She gestured at the log beside her. "I'll tell you..."

The breeze rolled in, charged with the feel of an impending storm as it glided through the narrow lanes of the pathway Azari and Tiel stood. Crowding into the forest of the bustling plot of land Azari and Tiel expecting storm clouds, only to shake their heads in confusion as they looked heavenward noticing clear sky.

Tiel looked at Azari noticing her injury " Let me help you with that." It was clear to Tiel that Azari was struggling with the saddlebag on Jetta.

" No, thanks, but I just want to take it off. I need to make sure Jetta didn't have any injuries from the belts rubbing her." Said Azari with a puzzled look on her face.

Tiel continued to feel pity for Azari, she decided to reach out clenching at the straps of the saddle bag giving Azari a empathetic look replied " Please, you're injured, let me help". Together they wrestled the bags to the ground. Azari wiggled closer to the bags, sitting down she began to fix her hair, putting it away from her face.

Tiel noticed Azari dabbing the fine sheen of moisture from her temples and putting her hair up. " Blinking in confusion stood close by wondering why Azari would be concerned about her looks at a time like this.

Azari smiled warmly at Tiel, " What?" Tiel shrugged as she took a step forward looking to the path where she had last seen Trevor and Selene. " Ser Trevor and Lady Selene must have slipped away when I wasn't watching.. If need be, I can track them."

" Sorry Tiel, look- I know this will sound really selfish but I don't really care about THAT WOMAN, I mean, Selene. Who cares where she went. I am glad she's gone if she is wants to be better than the rest of us. Let her find her own way for all I care." Azari's eyes filled with frustration, deep inside, she wondered if Trevor had gone with her.

" Tiel I know I have been so strange lately with my behavior. I don't really know you and you don't really know me. I do want to tell you that I am sorry for the other day, I was so embarrassed that I left without saying a word. I can't fix that but know..If you spend time with me, you will see I am not really that way. In fact, I will try not to let Selene get to me. Since I know you enjoy being with her." Azari stood looking at Tiel with her eyebrows raised and her mouth tucked to the side she just waited for Tiel to say something.

Trevor returned Selene's smile, though he could sense she was still a bit angry with him. The timbre of her sigh was a dead giveaway. Why was she still upset at him? Hadn't he apologized enough? He nodded and sat beside Selene, ignoring the clinging moss. His thigh protested a bit, but he dismissed it again. It had proven to be a minor wound despite the pain he had felt earlier.

He murmured, "Yes, I'd really like to know." He cast a sidelong glance at her, taking in her expressive eyes and unruly chestnut hair. A vision of Selene in regal attire flashed across his mind's eye. She was truly a beauty, her skin and delicate features alluring. Trevor turned his eyes away, but her sweet scent pursued his nose, mixing with the smell of woodsmoke.

He was suddenly very aware of her closeness and he fought the urge to touch her hand. What was he thinking? She wasn't his type. He heard those same words Azari had spoken to him before the storm mock him. Just what IS your type? Was Azari his type? If not, then who was? Feelings coursed through his heart like the rapids of the High Tor. He forced the thoughts into the back of his mind and concentrated on what Selene was about to reveal about her mysterious past...
